Athletics!!!

I cant wait till the Athletics, I like High Jump and Discus the most, I do like Long Jump and Shot-put, But I'm not looking forward to the 200 and 100 RUN, I'm not very good at running.
We had a practice today and yesterday and the more times I practice the better I'm gonna get.
I got better at long jump by getting my arms up and stretching out and leaning forward not backwards.
I think I'm gonna do well at discus and high jump!

Kotahitanga Week

On Wednesday we were manuhiri, we had to: Get people who wanted to trial for the speeches and the class had to pick which people were doing the speeches!

The people who did the trials were: Jacob, Oscar, George(Me), Max, Harrison, Ashley and Jahna! The people who got voted the most George(Me), Harrison, Ashley And Jahna. We also Had to pick a waiata(song), for our class to sing at the powhiri!!!

I think we were good at, being loud for the speeches, But we need to improve on our waiata(song) He Honore.

I felt really good after my speech, and putting down the Koha(gift), because it felt real like i was in a Marae!

On Thursday we were the tangata whenua, we had to do this with mrs McILroy’s class, we did The Haere Mai, hongi, Waiata And Banner Speech. Mrs McILroy’s class were the manuhiri, So they were doing exactly what we did when we were the manuhiri on Wednesday.

I think we were good at, the waiata because on that day in the morning Miss Garland changed the song because He Honore got boring and we didn't sound very good either. We sang, Te Aroha Which sounded way better than Wednesday’s song.

Ruma Wha were good at their waiata, and more better when they did a haka at the end.

At the end of Kotahitanga Week, Im feeling FANTASTIC, Because its been so Awesome to Learn and see so much Maori in one week!!!

Yesterday My Class and I, Did a powhiri it was realy fun and it was good to learn speaches and get to be apart of a powhiri with a different class!!!
